UK Resident 83(b) elections

Postby amahamud » Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:59 pm

I have just joined a startup and been granted shares which vest based on financial targets (no time limit). I currently live in the UK and there is some probability of me moving to the US over the next 24 months (covid dependent).

How would I be taxed in the UK if I decide to stay?
Is filing an 83(b) election a possibility without being registered in the states?
How would tax work if I moved to the US?

Thanks in advance for the help and if there any confusions please let me know and I would be more than happy to help.
