inheritance retention

Postby mike8888 » Wed Apr 03, 2019 4:51 pm

Hello,

I have a query about inheritance. Last year I inherited some money, but HMRC retained some £400k of the money I was due. I understand that this temporary retention is normal, but can someone please give me an idea as to how long this money will be kept by HMRC?

Thanks,
Mike.

HMRC don't "retain" any funds. IHT is charged on the estate and paid by the executors. Much more detail required.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
