Replacement BR (Business Property Relief) on AIM shares

Postby dominoman » Sat May 16, 2020 2:39 pm

I'm completing the IHT forms. On IHT 412 (Unlisted stocks and shares and control holdings) it asks whether an unlisted share (e.g. on AIM) was held for 2 years.

Some of the assets were not held for 2 years, but they do still qualify for 100% relief because they replaced other qualifying assets. Where and how do I explain this?

On Form IHT 400 (and IHT 412) list the shares held for two years and separately those replacement shares. In Box 92 IHT 400 set out relevant detail.
