Deed of Variation (DOV)

Postby BTW » Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:18 pm

My Brother and I are Executors / Beneficiaries to a residential family property that we have recently received Grant of Probate for. Although there will be a IHT position to settle,
we have decided to transfer the property to our Nephew.

In so far as defining the Deed of Variation and given the simple nature of what we want to achieve, is this something we could put put in place or is it necessary to engage the services of a Solicitor.
Assuming this is possible, can anyone kindly advise of a Web site or reference link that might help me define the appropriate wording.

Best wishes

Did you start here:https://www.gov.uk/alter-a-will-after-a-death

If not, perhaps you should.
