iht form or iht 400

Postby tiengodue » Thu Dec 24, 2020 5:32 pm

Hello,

I would like to know if form IHT form still needs filing if, once a deed of variation is applied and a property goes to a child, no inheritance tax becomes payable.
to add to this scneario, some of the available nil rate band (downsizing allowance) would be transferred to the spouse.
IS iht205 enough for this scenario or does iht 400 need filing?

thjanks

The simple answer is that it will depend on the value of the estate and whether of the questions at the beginning of IHT205 mean that the 205 can not be completed.

It is annoying and potentially misleading to post as you have done asking questions without all the background contained in your other long post to which I have attempted a number of responses.
