Prepaid Funeral Plan

Postby Uther » Tue May 24, 2022 11:46 am

Hi,

If funeral costs are paid for out of the estate, at death, then this is deductible at IHT400 81.
If however a funeral plan was in place ( paid in full ) is the cost of the plan deductible?

I have searched around but can find no clear answer.

Surely if it was already paid for, the value of the estate has already been reduced by the amount paid?
