Discussion with IR shows my completion of the 44 qualifying years of paying NI to qualify for state pension etc. I am 6o in Dec.2006 and currently working long term in Australia. I am being "invited" to continue paying (possibly class 2) to cover incapacity benefit in the event I return to UK.I cannot get a straight answer as to whether I NEED to make more NI payments and why the 44 years does not afford that cover. Ideas please.
