Best offer

Hi I am new to this forum and have a predicament
I have been offered 2 jobs
Job 1 55000 salary with a company car (mondeo)

Job 2 52000 with 6000 travel allowance using my own car with 500 miles a week
I would claim a married allowance but would be grateful to find out the take home difference between the 2 jobs

Are either you or you spouse in your 80's? If not you cannot claim the Married Couples Allowance and your salary will almost certainly preclude your spouse making a successful application for Marriage Allowance.

The allowance (salary in all but name) will give you a lower taxable income (£58000) than is likely with a company car (£55000 + car benefit) but is impossible for anyone to have the remotest clue about take home pay without knowing the car benefit value, your tax code and details of any company pension contributions you make (and whether they are pre tax i.e. reduce your the amount of salary which is treated as taxable income).
