The OP (and all of those affected) will get credited with their NI whether paid or not. We agree on that.

But the issue here is not that the filings are incorrect, it that they have not been made, and that means the PAYE has been trousered by the employer. The employee will not be worse off once it has been sorted, but it wont sort itself. As already stated, this is fraud, and it is a lot easier for a lay person to understand that the PAYE has not been paid, than to understand about the RTI filings.

(I misread 6 years somewhere in the post, hence the P35 comment).
