Expenses for Contractors

Postby Dave-A » Fri Dec 20, 2019 2:17 pm

We are involved in projects overseas. We use contractors and employees and we pay direct for all accommodation & flights for both employees and non-employees.

We do not count the non-employee accommodation and flights as entertainment.

If the contractors were able to include the cost of meals in their invoices, is the situation any different if staff by contractors meals occasionally.

Can we treat contractors as employees in respect of subsistence in these circumstances, or are meals purchased for non-employees technically entertainment?

Thanks,

Dave-A
