Taxes for 2 incomes

Postby Dawit99 » Wed May 05, 2021 10:40 am

Hi there,

I'm currently working through an umbrella company, tax code 1244L W1. I'm working evenings, and I was wondering if I take up a day job, as a temp worker PAYE, how much I will be taxed on each job. Will I be taxed more on both jobs than if I worked just one of the two, or does one get taxed heavier?

Many thanks,
Dawit

Normally a primary source will be allocated to give you your full allowance of approx. £12.5k and a secondary source will be taxed at your rate of 20/40/45%.

Sometimes the allowance is split across employments but the tax due across both employments will still be the same.
