minimum wage as a self employed person

Postby bennewton93 » Wed Sep 30, 2015 10:14 pm

I have just registered as self employed and am working at a music shop as a sales assistant and drum tutor
The shop owner is paying me approx 4-50 an hour. I want to invoice for £7 an hour. Is there a legal requirement for someone to pay you minimum wage if you are self employed?

NMW regulations do not apply to the self-employed, only employees.

A sales assistant is likely to be classified as an employee.

How many other clients do you have as a drum tutor?

a self-employed person doesn't receive "wages"
