Obligation to pay. Scam?

Postby Mirror Man » Tue Nov 22, 2016 10:48 pm

I am being pestered by a firm of tax specialists who are trying to convince me to part with 20k in fees in return for them helping me pay no tax. Sounds too good to be true but it is all to do with a loophole relating to the wording in tax law that states we are obliged to pay tax........as opposed to have to pay tax. If true it would save me an arm and a leg. Can any expert out there throw some light on this?

It's a scam based on misinterpretation of the law. Like the motorist who insists he isn't "driving" a vehicle.

If you're that desperate to avoid paying your fair share of tax then not give it a go?

It's possible that it might be a scam. If it is then I am sure that the taxpaying general public will sympathise with you. But then again they might be correct and for just £20k you might be able to shirk your taxpaying responsibilities - could you really bear to drive past hospitals and schools knowing that your hard earned cash may have helped pay for such things?
