NI Exemption after VISA category change and cool off.

Postby Yadhu » Sun Jul 15, 2018 11:08 am

Hi ,

I was in UK from June 2016 to June 2017 for 1 year in the VISA category Tier 2 ICT short term. At that time, I got the NI exemption for the first 52 weeks. After that, I was in India, for one year from the period 2017 June end to June 2018 end. Just now I came back to UK in a Tier 2 ICT long term VISA .

So My question is , can I get one more year (52 weeks) NI exemption due to VISA category change and cool off ?

Please note that I am a non EEA person.

Thanks.

Yes the 52 week period would start again for NI purposes. Also worth making sure you are claiming all the expenses/reliefs you are entitled to from a UK tax perspective.

So that means I have to take again one more NI? Or it will be the same NI?
