HMRC Debit Card charges

Postby towat » Tue Nov 20, 2018 1:38 pm

Just helped a client pay his Corporation Tax bill online with his company Debit Card and he was charged £40 for the privilege thats on a bill of just over £2000 or 1.7%, the receipt calls it a "Credit Card Fee" even though it was a debit card.

Have I missed something? is this even legal?

I believe the prohibition on fees only applies to personal cards, not company ones.
