Restricted Stock Units Taxation after I leave the UK?

Postby kshopp » Fri Mar 22, 2019 5:41 pm

I am an American citizen who was transferred by my company to the UK for a year. I received a grant of RSUs prior to going to the UK. I received another grant while in the UK, and I also had vesting occur in the UK for the first grant I received. Now that I am back in the US, I am trying to figure out my tax liability to the UK on these shares (which I still own, they have not been sold). Am I still expected to pay taxes to the UK on vesting that has occurred since I left the UK?

Tax treatment is basically based on your tax residency over the full period of vestment.

Were you sent to a UK office/branch/subsidiary to work?
