Hello,
Hope someone can help me figure out if I pay the right tax as I think I'm paying more than should do.
I will try to explain as clearly and quickly as possible.
In tax year 2015/16 I was working for a company getting paid every 4 weeks, which resulted in an underpayment of £165.40 which should have been adjusted off my tax code from April 2017 but for some reason it hasn't.
In tax year 2016/17 I was still with this company until 29th July 2016. Started new job (pay every month) 1st August 2016. I got 2 more payslips from company no 1, one pay in August and one pay in September. They have refunded most of my tax, so on my p45 I have £5300.58 income and £43.80 tax paid.
Job no 2 paid me £11723.28 until April 2017 and took £875.80 as tax.
HMRC is now saying that I underpaid by 438.40 as I had 2 jobs at the same time (I didn't, just got paid after I left) and adjusted my tax code to 1016L.
Could you guys please tell me if this is correct? Any help would be much appreciated.
