High Income Child Benefit Charge Query

Postby John1978 » Tue May 14, 2019 12:45 pm

Hi
My partner receives child benefit. Her salary is under £50k a year and my gross salary is c. £55k. I'm in a work salary sacrifice pension scheme though so my taxable income, as reported on my P60 for the last tax year is £48k. Neither myself or my partner receive any other income. I've used the tax calculator on HMRC and I don't think I need to register for self assessment and pay the charge but I'm looking for some reassurance.

thanks
John

Hello John1978
You are fine

You won't have any problems as long as your P60 taxable salary is below 50k and you have no p11d benefits or other taxable income
