BPR Replacement Property Relief - need to be claimed?

Postby jokerman » Thu Jan 02, 2020 1:02 pm

Hi -Hoping somebody can help. If I have sold BPR-qualifying assets, and have used some of the proceeds to buy new BPR-qualifying assets, do I need to notfy HMRC or submit any kind of claim to ensure that the investments are IHT-free immediately under the replacement property relief rules?

Thanks.

No - only when you need to claim the relief. Keep records because if it were claimed, it would be your executors doing it.
