I am a UK citizen who moved permanently to Brazil with in 2018.
I bought my family home in the UK in 2004 and it was to be unaffected by Brazil tax when I sold it in the future.
On 31/12/2023 a new tax law came into effect in Brazil removing the exemption for pre owned assets and they now want 15% CGT when I sell, on the whole profit not just the profit from 2015 value like the UK will want.
I am looking for some advice on how to legally ensure I don't pay CGT in Brazil.
Or am I stuck waiting for the DTA to come into force.
