With the deadline for filing employer end-of year returns looming, employers can see for themselves how easy it is to file their return online, in a new video podcast from HMRC.

The short film, which can be downloaded onto an iPod or viewed online, shows the main features of HMRC's PAYE Online system. Viewers are taken through the registration process, and given a taste of what it's like to file online.

The podcast can be downloaded for free from HMRC's podcast page at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/podcasts or from iTunes.

Launching the podcast, Don Macarthur, Head of HMRC's Employer Team, said:

"Online filing is quick, secure and easy to use. Employers with fewer than 50 employees who file their end-of-year returns online also receive a £100 tax-free payment this year. So if you're a small employer, download the podcast now and see how easy it is to file online and get yourself a £100 bonus."

The deadline for filing employer end-of-year returns for 2007/08 is 19 May 2008. Employers with 50 or more employers must file online, while those with fewer than 50 employees have the option to file on paper or online.
