What’s new?

• Reminder that HMRC are no longer issuing copies of their Stamp Duty Land Tax CD-Rom;
• Child Trust Fund (CTF) consultation - HMRC are seeking views on the CTF account opening process, and in particular on the requirement that providers receive the child’s voucher before they can open the account;
• Updated income tax and pre-owned assets guidance;
• Reminder that from April 2008, HMRC will no longer approve or accept computer generated substitute versions of the self assessment return;
• The Draft Double Taxation Relief (Taxes on Income) (Switzerland) Order 2007 and Explanatory Memorandum;
• The Draft Double Taxation Relief and International Tax Enforcement (Taxes on Income and Capital) (Faroes) Order 2007 and Explanatory Memorandum; and
• VAT Notice 343, Update 4 (October 2007): Importing capital goods free of duty and VAT.
