A quick guide to recent additions to the HM Revenue & Customs website.

What’s new?

  •  Inheritance Tax - the file and save and integrated account versions of form IHT200 worksheet have been amended due to a calculation error at box WS20;
  • HMRC staff survey results;
  • Tax Law rewrite of corporation tax - Draft clauses and explanatory notes on intangible fixed assets and film production and sound recordings have been published for public consultation;
  • Updated list of PEP and ISA managers issued;
  • List of registered CASCS updated to 28 September 2007;
  • Tax Credits: update to 'Childcare' frequently asked questions; and
  • C&E Notice 3 - Bringing your belongings and private motor vehicle to the UK from outside the EC (October 2007, Update 2), which reflects TI relief amendments and new CPC codes, email address for NIRU and tel number for DVL Northern Ireland have also changed.

Sarah is a Chartered Tax Adviser. She has been writing professionally since joining CCH Editions in 1998 as a Senior Technical Editor, contributing to a range of highly regarded publications including the British Tax Reporter, Taxes - The Weekly Tax News, the Red & Green legislation volumes, Hardman's, International Tax Agreements and many others. She became Publishing Manager for the tax and accounting portfolio in 2001 and later went on to help run CCH Seminars (including ABG Courses and Conferences).

Sarah originally worked for the Inland Revenue in Newbury and Swindon Tax Offices, before moving out into practice in 1991. She has worked for both small and Big 5 firms. She now works as a freelance author providing technical writing services for the tax and accountancy profession.
